The Experience
Not a tour.You're the pilot.
01 / IMMERSION
Goggles On. World Off.
The DJI Goggles 3 stream a live HD video feed from the drone's nose. The moment you put them on, you're the drone — soaring, banking, diving over the California landscape.
02 / INSTRUCTION
Built for First-Timers.
No experience required. Every flight begins with a hands-on briefing covering controls, safety, and a guided warm-up. You'll feel confident before you ever touch the throttle solo.
03 / LOCATION
Wide Open. No Crowds.
We fly at a private outdoor site near Monterey — a controlled, scenic environment with the elbow room serious FPV demands. Coordinates shared after booking.
02 — Flight Sequence
From arrival to landing.
Every session follows a deliberate progression. Safety first, then skill, then full immersion.
01
Brief & Gear Up
We meet at the location, walk you through the drone, controls, and safety protocols. Goggles fitted, transmitter calibrated.
02
Line-of-Sight Warmup
Get comfortable on the sticks with the drone in view. Hover, translate, basic banking. We're right beside you.
03
FPV Goggles On
Goggles down — the world disappears and you're cockpit-view at altitude. This is the moment everyone remembers.
04
Free Flight
Cinematic passes, low altitude carving, the works. We'll hand you the highlight footage from your session afterward.
What pilots are saying.
— Reviews
"The most immersive experience I’ve had in California. Actually flying the DJI Avata 2 instead of just watching someone else do it was incredible. The Monterey views are unmatched."
David M.
"I’ve never touched a drone before, and by the end of the session, I was flying through open fields through the goggles. The instructors make you feel so safe and capable from start to finish."
MARIA L.
"Absolutely top-tier. The equipment is brand new and the footage they give you at the end is movie quality. If you’re visiting Monterey, this is the one skip-the-tour-bus thing you have to do."
CARTER T.
Meet Your Pilot
Six years. A thousand hours.
I'm Chris, and I've spent the last six years flying drones for a living.
My background is commercial drone work: utility infrastructure, cell towers, roof inspections, pavement and asset evaluation. Precision flying where mistakes aren't an option. Over a thousand hours on the sticks, and still climbing.
FPV is the other side of that world. The fun side. The most immersive, heart pounding way to fly that exists, and the reason I started Monterey FPV Experience. I wanted to hand that feeling to people who'd never otherwise get to have it.
Here's what that means for you: when you strap in, you're flying with someone who does this professionally. Safety isn't a disclaimer I read off a card. It's six years of habit. Every session starts slow, on your terms, with a full briefing and a guided warm-up. We don't rush, and we don't put the goggles down until you're ready.
You're in experienced hands. Come find out why nothing else flies like this.
